Adam
Cannon

Adam
Cannon was born on July 10, 1990 in south-central Pennsylvania.
He later moved to Florida when he was 3 years old, and resides in
the Daytona Beach area. In his early years of school, Adam participated in Baseball,
Swimming, and Wrestling; but it was the Martial Arts where he found his
niche.
He
began his marital arts career at the age of 7 studying JoDokk Do under
the direction of Professor Daniel Burrello, Master Jasper Watts, and
Master Damon Hill. Adam hit
the ground running, spending about 20 hours a week in the dojo.
He excelled quickly, receiving his 1st degree at the
age of 9. He then began
teaching as an assistant in the Little Dragons classes at his school –
Modern Martial Arts Academy. Adam
has since continued his training in the JoDokkDo system, and is
currently a 3rd degree Black Belt.

In
2001, Adam joined Internal Power’s Team Intensity and began studying
the style of Tae Kwon Do under the direction of forms champion Ramon De
La Cruz and David Rodriquez. During
his time there, Adam was fortunate to be able to train with other world
champions like Marc Canonizado, Sammy Vasquez, and Jeromy Roque.
Adam currently holds a 1st degree Black Belt in Tae
Kwon Do.
Last
year, Adam was privileged and honored to become a member of Team Chat
International, and train under the direction of eight-time Forms &
Weapons World Champion Michael Chaturantabut (“Mike Chat”), Sensei
John Sharkey, and World Champions Matthew Mullins, Adam Faldetta, and
Shannon Moriarty. Becoming
a member of this team has been a long-time goal of Adam’s and he is
very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing group
of individuals. In addition
to joining Team Chat, this is also Adam’s first year on the NASKA
circuit. He has enjoyed
every minute, but the best part for him has been getting to know the
competitors! At this
year’s US Open, Adam was added as the newest member of XMA’s Team
Revolution.
The
martial arts have provided so many opportunities for Adam. He has been able to participate in his community - attending
fundraising & charity events, as well as being involved in mentor
programs. Adam has also had
the opportunity to perform at places such as collegiate sporting events,
Universal Studios, Disney’s Wide World of Sports, & the Grand Ole
Opry. He was fortunate
enough to be a participant in the creation of instructional videos with
Bill Wallace and Herb Perez.
Adam
began competing in 1999, and has since won various local, state, and
national titles in his forms, weapons, and fighting divisions.
Adam is very grateful for the amazing experiences that the
martial arts have provided, and is very excited about the future of the
sport. He has consistently
maintained academic honors, and enjoys gymnastics, surfing, and
skateboarding in his spare time.
