Dallas Helmer 

My name is Soke-Dai Michelle Maizis. I am the head instructor at Maizis Martial Arts Academy in Stayner, Ontario. I would like to nominate my student Dallas Helmer. 

Dallas started training in 2003 and took to marital arts right away. Entering his first competition, the Geogian Triangle Open, just three weeks after starting martial arts he was bitten by the tournament bug. Dallas is currently a red belt, which is an intermediate belt in his school. 

Dallas is a first time member of the WKA Candian National Team. He won the Gold medal in boys soft style forms at the 2005 WKA Canadian Championships in May. Last year Dallas was 3rd overall in fighing, 4th overall in kata and 5th overall in weapons in the Tour Canada circuit. 

Dallas has his sights set on Gold at the WKA World Championships to be held this fall in Niagara Falls, Canada.
