Isaiah "Iceman" Vicens  

Isaiah "Iceman" Vicens is an 8 year old from Bridgeport,CT. Iceman is what he is known as when he is competing. He has already created his own kata called Namazu which translates into " Icestorm". He has been training since the age of 5. Isaiah is a black belt at The Rodriguez Karate Academy in Bridgeport. He studies under Kyoshi Hector Rodriguez. Isaiah holds the rank of black belt in 2 martial arts systems(Goju-Ryu and Shotokan). 

Thru dedication and hard work, Isaiah has accomplished so much. He has been competing on the Krane circuit since 2003. He was crowned CT National Champion in 2003 for traditional and creative forms, weapons, and fighting. He was also Overall Grand Champion in 2003 for weapons, forms, and fighting. 

Isaiah travels along the east coast and the mid-west competing against some of the best national and world rated competitors. He always manages to overcome these top competitors and be victorious. He has over 150 trophies, all of which are displayed throughout his home. 

Isaiah competes in traditional and open forms, weapons, musicial forms and weapons, and fighting. Isaiah also does karate routines in which he incorporates his gymanstics skills such as a round-off into a backspring and is currently perfercting his backtuck. His latest venture is the musical forms. 

Isaiah always keeps the spectators coming back for more as he always has something new to show. For being only 8 years old, he is dedicated to the martials arts and is always seeking more knowledge. 

What makes Isaiah more amazing is that he is legally blind. He has no vision from one eye and from the other eye, he only has about 40% vision. He doesn't let anything stop him from being the best. The words "I Can't" and "Quit" do not exist in his vocabulary. You can achieve whatever you put your mind to with some hard work behind it . He works very hard for what he has accomplished. He attends karate classes 5 times a week. Among other things he is a good student in school. Whoever has the oppurtunity to meet Isaiah knows that he is kind-hearted and a dedicated person who will grow up to be a successful young man.
