of Sensei Chai Eun at Chai Karate in Ardsley, N.Y.

Pine Tree State Karate Championships
took place recently at the Freeport, Maine High School.
Promoters Wanda Danielle and Steve Day put on a another great
northern New England event. Cory Lutkus, Stephanie Lamanteer,
Jessica Souther and Riley Teixeira were some of the top
finishers at the event.

Solis
From El Sobrante, CA he began his martial arts training at
age 5 at his fathers karate studio.
He study’s Kajukenpo, a blend of karate and Ju-jitsu
from Hawaii.

Scott Zimmerman began
competing in local tournaments and at age 6, Scotty went to his
first national tournament in Kentucky. He won first in
forms and sparring. At age seven, he was introduced to
John Su and they began working together. Scotty was so
inspired by John's discipline, drills, and techniques that
Scotty continued all of this in his everyday training.

was 5 years old she was breaking wood, sparring, and competing
in tournaments on a statewide level.

Pine Tree State Karate Championships

The Pine Tree State Karate Championships took place
recently at the Freeport, Maine High School. Promoters Wanda
Danielle and Steve Day put on a another great northern New England
event. Over 200 competitors from all over New England
attended the event. Freeport, Maine is one of New England's
top tourist attractions, with some great shopping outlets.

event.

International
truly lived up to it’s name. Not only were the east coast’s
best competitors in attendance but a Top Notch competition
team from Ireland (The AKI Ireland Team) flew in for this
outstanding International extravaganza. Tony and Brenda
Cogliandro would like to thank all of the Competitors,
Volunteers, Judges and coordinators for helping to make the 2nd
MAINE INTERNATIONALS such a huge success, and hope to see
everybody back next year.
