Aaron Sandman

Aaron Sandman started Martial Arts training in Sept 2001 at the age of 7 at Ernie Reyes Martial Arts in Morgan Hill Calif. He seemed to take to it very well. Always wanting to practice and go to classes. About a year went by and Aaron watched Gemma Nguyen perform at the US Open on ESPN. He said…Dad I want to do that! From that point on he seemed to want to practice more and more. He then told his Dad that he was ready to compete in a Tournament. The 2003 Compete Nationals was coming up and being only about a 6-hour drive from home Dad said we could go and compete and see what you think. Aaron seemed to take to the tournament very well and managed to win a 1st place in intermediate belt 8-9 yr old open form division.

Aaron was invited to be a member of the Ernie Reyes World Action Team and has performed Demos at places like the MAIA Super Show in Las Vegas. Local demos and football game halftime shows. He loves to perform in front of any and everyone he encounters.

The only other NASKA tourney he attended in 2003 was the Battle of Atlanta and placed first again in the 8-9yr old advanced belt Open form Division. Aaron is a NASKA member and even after transferring half of his points from the intermediate level to the Advanced level he still managed to rank 7th in the Open form standings at the end of the year.

In 2004 so far Aaron is now a Red Belt and has taken multiple first places and Grands at the 2004 Compete Nationals and a 1st and 2nd place at Golden Gate Nationals. He will be competing as a 10 year old Advanced belt at the 2004 US Open and we are trying to see if we can get to a couple other NASKA tourneys this year, most likely the Battle of Atlanta and the Diamond Nationals if possible. Dad is putting in extra hours at work to try to allow Aaron to go to these Tournaments.

The nice thing is that Aaron enjoys competing so much but also enjoys teaching and helping other competitors even the ones he is going to compete against.
