Anthony Atkins/World
Champion
The "AIR" Atkins Superstar Seminar event of the decade happened recently in
Fairfield Maine. Superstar NASKA World Champion Anthony Atkins brought
his own brand of Sport Karate excitement to the Fairfield Community
Center, and Champions Tennis Club in Waterville. It was a three day
event loaded with fun, excitement and top notch Sport Karate training.
The seminar was sponsored by Sensei Mark Huard's and the Huard's
Jiu-Jitsu Karate School in Winslow, Maine.
"When did you start
karate, what's your style?
I'm 21 years old and I live in Decatur, Al. I have been studying an
art of karate called Tang Soo Do for 11 years.
"Do you like to compete
at tournaments?"
I started competing the same year I started karate. I won my first big
national tournament in 1997 as a junior at the Battle Of
Atlanta.
"How long have you been
with a team?"
In 1998 I joined Team Karate Cares. I was a member of that
team for 3 years. As a member of that team I've won, one junior forms
title, two world forms title and a Team forms title...My
biggest accomplishment of that team was winning Charlie Lee tournament
in 1999 for my first adult grand championship. In 2000 my team partner
and I won the first ever NASKA TEAM SYNCHRONIZED TITLE.
In 2001, I became a member of Charlie
Lee karate. Since being on that team I have been to Paris, France and
appear on ESPN2. While in France my team partner and I won the first
ever French Open Team Form Championship.
In July of 2001 I traveled
back to France to do a Karate camp on tournament style Martial Arts.
By the end of my third year as competing as an adult I have won 9
titles ( 3 world form title, 3 national form title, 2 synchronized form
title and international team forms title). I have also shot 4 videos
on tournament style karate, 2 of them being international.
I always tell kids to, think about what you're good at and
stay with it. Because, if you put your heart into something the path it
will take you on will be unbelievable...
Peace,
Anthony Atkins
5 time world champion
Hey Karate Angels,
I would like to nominate my partner Ryan
Pinkston for the Kids Hall of Fame.
My Partner Ryan
Pinkston
He and I were NASKA 2000 and 2001 World
Champions (Synchronized Martial Arts0. Ryan is a world champion in
Canada, USA, France and Guatemala. Ryan holds world titles for
NASKA, WVMAO and Krane. In March Ryan and I were to perform for
the Bercy Martial Arts Festival in Paris, unfortunately I was injured
the day before. Ryan put together a team of 8 Americans
and in two days impressed Karate Bushudo Magazine of Paris to
enough to spotlight then in the show. There were 28,000 spectators
from all over Europe, they sure were not disappointed. He is an amazing kid
my partner.
This is a photo from the recent seminar that Anthony Atkins and Ryan
Pinkston taught in Maine. The seminar took place at the
