Is
juice or cola making you fat?
by Fitz
If you
are trying to lose an extra few pounds and are dying for
a short cut.......I’ll slip you the secret as long as
you promise not to tell a soul. Shhhhhhhhhhh! Promise?
OK. STOP DRINKING YOUR CALORIES!!! Yes, I did write that
at the top of my lungs. Do you realize that one 24 oz.
(typical medium) soda or juice has more calories than a
snack size bag of Cheetos?
How
many of those would you feel comfortable eating each
day? Not too many huh? 3 oz. glasses a day of soda or
juice could be responsible for you gaining or keeping 30
pounds of fat in a year! Ever stop by the Jiffy gas
station and pick up a big gulp? Ouch! That’s 566
calories per cup! You could eat an entire meal
containing less. In my book, if I’m going to consume
calories.....I’m at least going to chew!
So here’s the easy answer. Ditch the soda, juice and
alcoholic beverages. Guzzle water, diet soda, Crystal
Light drinks, or unsweetened tea instead. Another double
edged treat to this whole matter is for those who
delight in fruit juices.
By
eating fruit instead, not only will you consume less
calories on the whole and increase the amounts of actual
vitamins and nutrients you receive from the fruit, but
fruit is so fibrous and filling, you will crave less
junk food. If you’re looking to drop some weight and
aren’t yet willing to clean up your actual eating
habits.....at least clean up your drinking habits!
