Training
When You Don't Want To

As
I write this....I've just completed the most
excruciating workout of my life. Not that it was
physically tough, I only jogged 2 miles. Which
is not usually a tough run for me. I promise I
have never done anything more miserable though.
I didn't want to get off of my lazy butt, and do
anything.
Especially
work out! I had planned to work out though, and
all I could think about was all of the wonderful
people I've come across which I have told,
"Suck it up, and do it anyway". So...I
did.
First obstacle was getting dressed. Hated that.
Next obstacle was getting out the door. Somehow
that happened too. Then! I get on the treadmill.
Ugh! I want to break it instead of use it.
But...I
hit start and cranked up the speed. I literally
cursed the entire first mile. Then, knowing I
only had half way to go...I pressed on.
Amazingly enough, just like I preach. The last
mile wasn't so bad. And to be completely honest,
I am obnoxiously proud of myself. So proud, that
I am taking myself shoe shopping. I am also
proud that I was right! I know that working out
does not always seem like the most
"fun" option.
The
mere thought of getting dressed to go can be
nauseating. But I'm also positive that
exercising, especially when you don't want to
can be one of the most excellent experiences in
the world. Hooray for me!
Hopefully
you'll make that choice to fight the 'lazy
fannie syndrome' and have a reason to shoe shop
too!
