Scott
Zimmerman
Scotty
has been in martial arts since he was five years old. He began competing
in local tournaments and at age 6, Scotty went to his first national
tournament in Kentucky. He won first in forms and sparring.
At age seven, he was introduced to John Su and they began working
together. Scotty was so inspired by John's discipline, drills, and
techniques that Scotty continued all of this in his everyday training.

John
Su then introduced Scotty to John Chung and Scotty auditioned for Mr.
Chung's Team Sidekick in 2001. Scotty was accepted on the team and
continued training with Mr. Chung. As an underbelt, Scotty was
undefeated and turned blackbelt in 2003. His first year as
blackbelt has been a very challenging one. He competes on the
NASKA, NBL, and WCMAO circuits. This year he has been training with
Chris Sheridan of Canada who is also a member of Team Sidekick. Scotty
is very honored to be a part of Team Sidekick and to have John Chung as
a Coach and Chris Sheridan and John Su as Instructors.
Frank
Maranto is Scotty's gymnastics coach and has also been a great supporter
of Scotty. Exposure to these professionals has allowed Scotty to
develop character, self-discipline, professional behavior and good
training skills. Scotty has learned how to train hard and have fun
doing it. He has enjoyed all the friends he has made on the
different circuits. Scotty is in the martial arts for the love of
it, for the art of it, and for the challenge of it. Scotty
maintains excellent grades at school and plays football.
