Dear Karate Angels,
I
think Susan Rundell of Scarborough ME should be inducted into the KARATE ANGELS "Hall
of Fame". She is one of the best 8 yr old Jr. Black Belts in the
USA.
She dominated in the SMART Karate circuit and hopes to take her
talents to a nation circuit in 2003 (KRANE RATINGS INTERNATIONAL).
She
is also a kind respectful young Lady and a role model to the other
students at the Fournier's Olympic Karate Studios.

been studying Shotokan Karate at Fournier’s Olympic Karate Center
in Portland,
Maine since the age of 3 ½.
Susan

Susan’s favorite weapon is the Bo, which she moves with
astonishing precision, power and agility.
The heart of a champion
Susan
has been competing regionally, for a little over one year and already
has quite a list of achievements.
Susan has won 15 first place trophies, 8 gold medals and 5
second place trophies.
She
was the Maine State SMART Division Champion and State Grand Champion
in her division in 2001. She
was Grand Champion, 12 year olds and under, at the 2002 Pine Tree
State Karate Championship.

Musical Kata. Recently,
at the 2003 Maine Nationals, Susan won the Jr. Black Belt Grand
Championship for 17 year olds and under.
Susan

outstanding black belt instructors.
Susan trains especially hard with her Bo instructor, Bob
Scritchfield.
Susan has
learned a great deal from all of her instructors, who feel that she is
a standout not only because of her age, but because of her devotion
to the pursuit of excellence. They
feel she has the heart of a true champion.
Susan
is a member of the two demonstration teams at Fournier’s, the Demo
Team and HIT (High Intensity Team).
Both teams are composed high quality students who perform as a
group and individually throughout Southern and
Central Maine
.
Looking
forward to her second year of competition, Susan will expand the
number and types of tournaments she will enter to include national
competitions. She knows that now that she is a Black Belt, the bar has
gone up, and is excited by the new challenges that await her.
