Jake Strickland recently appeared on the talk show doing
martial arts.

eighth-grader Jake Strickland
appeared on the ABC Talk show “Live With Regis
and Kelly hosted by Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa on
Monday May 24, 2004
at
9:00 a.m. Jake trains under
coach Young S. Won, who operates studios in
Columbus
and
Phenix City.
Producers of the show, which airs on WTVM, invited Jake and
his mother to fly to New York after learning of his prowess as
a member of the Extreme Martial Arts performance team. A
seven-time champion in North American Sport Karate Association
events, Jake was one of five young people who appeared on
"Live" during "Amazing Kids Week. "Jake
performed for a minute and a half doing an amazing
demonstration. He
also gave them a quick lesson on how to spin the bo.
It was great!! Congratulations
to Jake Strickland for his great successes in the martial
arts. Keep up the great
work! You are a
great role model for the younger martial artists in the world.
