Karate:
an art of wellness
The ancient martial art involves more than what you've
seen in corny Hollywood blockbusters and violent video games, as
it can also improve self-discipline and personal fitness.
Ball State Daily News, IN
A fun, easy way to get into shape and learn self-defense would be
to pursue karate, said William Bowling, owner of Bowling's
Karate Kountry. "It's important to protect yourself
in this day and age." Bowling said. "You never know when
you need to defend yourself, and without the proper skills you
can't do that."
When learning the techniques of the martial art, students have to
make their way through the ranking system, he said. The system
comes in the form of belts, and there are 20 belts in all.

Exemplifying
the hallmarks of the Martial Arts Leadership!
I would like to nominate my son, Sean
Christopher Piskor into the Martial Arts Kids Hall of Fame. Sean is
currently 14 and has been training for his BLACK BELT in Tae Kwon Do since
the age of 11. Sean's absolute dedication and passion right now is
the martial arts. He has been working for the school he studies at,
which is Allstar Karate and Kickboxing in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Jimmy
has been Sean's main instructor. Sean is preparing for his BLACK
BELT test on Sat. Nov. 17, 2007, and he is looked up to at the school in
an extremely positive and respectful way. He was awarded a
plaque a few weeks ago for "exemplifying the hallmarks of the Martial
Arts Leadership Team: dedication, hard work, honesty, integrity,
proficiency, and overall respectful professionalism"
Shianne
Anders
I would like to Nominate my daughter Shianne Anders into
the Kids Hall of Fame for Karate.

years later, she just turned 9 last month and is testing for her Black
Belt on November 17th. Shianne is very dedicated to Martial Arts and
extremely focused.
Shianne is currently training at Allstar Karate in Hagerstown under Mr

Hi, how are you? My name is Clifton Keenswijk. I'm a 25 year old law student, living in Suriname ( South America). I've been training
in taekwondo for almost 10 years now, but I've also trained in karate, boxing and kickboxing.
I want to start a career as an onscreen martial artist next year, but I don't know if I have what it takes, to make it as an onscreen
martial artist. Can you please give me your honest opinion and tell me if
I have a shot or not? And if you do think that I have a shot, how can I find work as an onscreen martial artist in a foreign country?
I'm 6'3" and weight 235 pounds. I've attached a few clips on this message.
Please email me.
Thanks and keep up the great work.
